The Rivers Equine Vets is a modern and progressive Ambulatory Equine Practice that is based in the beautiful Tweed Valley of Northern NSW.
From its base in Murwillumbah, the practice services clients with all breeds of horses in the surrounding regions of the Tweed Valley (Byron Bay to the Southern Gold Coast). Our team utilises the most modern equipment to provide exceptional care for clients and their horses.
We have wonderful office staff members who are available during office hours to take your calls so that we can best meet your needs and the needs of your horses.

Our Story
In 2012, Equine veterinarian Greg Baldwin, and his wife Kisa, a small animal veterinarian, chose the beautiful Tweed Valley in the Northern Rivers to settle and raise their young family. They had recently returned from a three-year working stint in the UK, where Greg was an associate vet at the world-renowned Rossdale and Partners in Newmarket, the home of European racing.
The Rivers Equine Vets (previously Baldwin Equine Veterinary Services) started in Kisa and Greg’s garage with one vehicle, a laptop, and a mobile phone. During these early days, Kisa took time away from practice to raise their young daughters, Eliza and Phoebe. They built a home on a farm in Stokers Siding and have been warmly welcomed into the Northern Rivers community.
They have experienced their fair share of challenges, including Cyclone Debbie in 2017, which saw 4 feet of water flood the current practice premise. This was also a difficult time for many of their clients, but in showing the true Aussie spirit, the whole community pitched in to get through the disaster together.
With the support of their loyal clientele, their practice manager, Jess, and a great reception team, Greg has been able to grow the practice to include three passionate vets and a vet nurse, which ensures he can continue to offer a reliable and professional service that his clients have come to know and respect.
From humble beginnings, The Rivers Equine Vets has evolved into a great team of professionals that can offer equine veterinary services from Byron Bay to the Southern Gold Coast. The practice is fully mobile, and all services are available to clients on their farms or at their stables.
Greg and Kisa believe strongly in practicing as ethical and compassionate veterinarians and have always strived to deliver the best possible care to their clients and patients.
