The Rivers Equine Vets is a modern and progressive Ambulatory Equine Practice that is based in the beautiful Tweed Valley of Northern NSW.

From its base in Murwillumbah, the practice services clients with all breeds of horses in the surrounding regions of the Tweed Valley (Byron Bay to the Southern Gold Coast). Our team utilises the most modern equipment to provide exceptional care for clients and their horses.

We have wonderful office staff members who are available during office hours to take your calls so that we can best meet your needs and the needs of your horses.

Our Story
The Rivers Equine Vets (previously Baldwin Equine Veterinary Services) was founded in 2012 by Veterinarians Greg and Kisa Baldwin. The business started in their garage with one vehicle, a laptop, and a mobile phone and quickly grew to a busy equine clinic with reception staff and various employee vets along the way.
The Rivers Equine Vets has experienced a great deal of challenges, including two major flood events, which saw more than four feet of water flood the current practice premises on both occasions. This was also a difficult time for many of their clients, but in showing the true Aussie spirit, the whole community pitched in to get through the disaster together.​

In the beginning of 2025, Greg decided to sell the practice to spend more time with his family. New owners, Katherine Dodd and Katrina Swift have continued Greg’s legacy hitting the ground running in order to provide a continuous service to our loyal clientele.
Katherine and Katrina believe strongly in practicing as ethical and compassionate veterinarians and have always strived to deliver the best possible care to their clients and patients.
With the support of their loyal clientele, their practice manager, Jess, and a great reception team, we have been able to continue to offer a reliable and professional service that our clients have come to know and respect.

The Rivers Equine Vets has evolved into a great team of professionals that can offer equine veterinary services from Byron Bay to the Southern Gold Coast.
The practice is fully mobile, and all services are available to clients on their farms or at their stables.
